A few notes to share about my studio...

 

Sara Bareilles is a big influence on my art.  Her beautiful voice fills the calm air as I choose different colors and tools to make paintings. Call it repetitive but I love listening to a song like Gravity or I Don't Know Anything a billion times.  The painting is something different every time.

The warmth of the winter sun beaming in or the sound of the rain or a gentle breeze or the heat on a hot day affect my mood and in turn what painting I produce this artful day.

Painting demands a presence and focus and simply said, a down to earth mindfulness.  Quiet the outside noise and find a depth of visual clarity. A quote that sums up my studio experience- 

"When you make things with your hands, you get in touch with your soul." This is our one life to live.  So live it!

One's environment hugs and supports artistic development.  In the beginning,  I painted countless hours and days in my kitchen.  I am now grateful for my studio space where the creativity in my mind continues to flow.
